Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the Honoring Hometown Heroes Act was favorably reported out of the House Judiciary Committee:
Representatives John Larson (CT-01), Ted Deutch (FL-22), Jan Schakowsky (IL-09), and Doris Matsui (CA-06) led over 100 of their colleagues in a letter to President Trump urging him to protect Social Security by rejecting any proposal that would cut or eliminate premiums in the form of payroll contributions, thus weakening dedicated funding to the Social Security Trust Funds.
(Hartford, CT) – The Connecticut Congressional Delegation today announced a $5.5 million federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to support Connecticut efforts to combat the opioid epidemic. The funding is the first of two rounds from the bipartisan 21st Century Cures Act, signed into law by President Barack Obama in December.
