Visiting Washington, DC

Our office schedules tours for constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to high demand, please request them as early as possible to maximize your chances.

Beginning May 7, 2025, visitors will be unable to access the White House Complex without a REAL ID-compliant form of ID: physical REAL ID (not a temporary paper version), passport or passport card, military ID, or permanent resident card. For more information on REAL ID, click here.

  • Tours must be requested at least one week in advance per White House policy. Due to high demand, tours made further in advance have the highest chance of success.
  • Tours can be scheduled up to three months in advance and tend to fill up quickly. You can still submit this form more than three months in advance, but we will have to wait until the window opens before we can act on your request.
  • Tours are self-guided and are offered Tuesday-Thursday from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and Friday-Saturday from 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. The White House closes occasionally for official business, and the tour schedule is subject to change at any time with little notice, due to inclement weather or scheduling conflicts, even after confirmation.

  • Please provide our office with Dates of Birth, Countries of Birth, and Citizenship Status of all members of your party to be submitted along with your tour request. We cannot submit your tour request without this information. You may provide this information over the phone if you prefer.
    • For US Citizens: please provide Social Security Numbers.
    • For non-US Citizens: please provide your country of citizenship and Passport/Green Card Numbers
  • Tours must be requested at least four weeks in advance. This policy is set by the FBI, and we are unable to submit requests made fewer than three weeks in advance.
  • Because of high demand, requests have the highest chance of success when made about two months in advance.

  • Currency production tours must be requested at least 14 business days in advance. (Please note: due to a backlog, requests are taking several weeks to be scheduled, and they are on a first come, first-served basis.)
  • Tours are offered at 8:15 AM and 8:45 AM, as well as every 15 minutes from 3-3:45 PM during the summer.
  • Same-day tours can also be reserved in-person at 8 AM.
