Larson, Congressional Leaders, Meet with U.S. Commanders in Germany

London, U.K. – Over the weekend, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01), Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional leaders met with U.S. Commanders in Stuttgart, Germany. They met with General Thomas Waldhauser (Commander of the United States Africa Command), Lt. General Stephen Twitty (Deputy Commander, United States European Command) and two natives of Connecticut, Brigadier General Laura Potter (Director of Intelligence, United States European Command) a native of Glastonbury, and Martin Kindl (Director for Analysis, AFRICOM), a native of Hartford.
"Over the weekend we met with U.S. Commanders about the importance of keeping our NATO alliance strong, and how imperative these strategic relationships are. A few weeks ago, the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, addressed Congress and echoed the same points. We cannot forget who our allies are," said Larson. "Our troops overseas are doing a superb job, and it was especially heartening to meet with Brigadier General Potter and Director Kindl who are both natives of Connecticut's First District."
