Today, U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) and U.S. Representatives John Larson (D-1), Joe Courtney (D-2), Rosa DeLauro (D-3), Jim Himes (D-4), and Jahana Hayes (D-5) applauded $7.5 million that Connecticut health centers will receive from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), to expand COVID-19 testing. The funding was passed as a part of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act.

Today, Representatives John B. Larson (D-CT) and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) introduced legislation establishing a risk corridor program for Medicare Advantage plans during the COVID-19 Emergency. This critical bill would help manage risk in the Medicare Advantage marketplace during this time of national crisis while helping to lower premiums for seniors, a population particularly vulnerable to COVID-19. This mechanism would be in place temporarily to help offer greater certainty during an uncertain time.
