Today, House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee Chairman John Larson (D-CT), Ways and Means Committee Member Vern Buchanan (R-FL), Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden (D-OR), and Finance Committee Member Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) introduced the Know Your Social Security Act.

Yesterday, the House of Representatives unanimously approved H. Res. 585, Reaffirming support for the Good Friday Agreement and other agreements to ensure a lasting peace in Northern Ireland.

The CT Congressional Delegation sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Agriculture urging the Department to abandon its proposed rule regarding the Standard Utility Allowances (SUA) in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Today, Representatives John Larson (CT-01) and Joe Courtney (CT-02) , and Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT), released a letter they received from the IRS confirming that the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity Company, Inc. (CFSIC) is not required to issue federal tax form 1099s to homeowners who have received assistance from CFSIC to repair their crumbling foundations.

Today, Congressman John Larson (CT-01), Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02), Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04), and Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) urging them to rescind a $450,000 “non-reporting” penalty imposed on Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. Gaylord Hospital has provided patients throughout the state of Connecticut with high-quality care for more than one hundred years.

Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act (H.R. 1309).
