Larson Votes for Workplace Protections for Health Care and Social Service Employees

November 21, 2019

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act (H.R. 1309). Larson is an original cosponsor of the bill.

"Our nation's health care and social service workers care for the most vulnerable in our society. However, they can often be at risk of workplace violence due to their unique roles. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, workplace violence incidents have increased by 80 percent over the last 10 years in the health care and social services sectors. That's why I'm proud to vote for the Workplace Violence Prevention for Health Care and Social Service Workers Act to address this growing epidemic. Everyone should feel safe in their place of work," said Larson. "I applaud Rep. Joe Courtney for his leadership to address this growing issue."
