Hartford, CT - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) joined Representatives Jim Himes, Rosa DeLauro, Joe Courtney, and Jahana Hayes and U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy in writing a letter to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) supporting the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (CTDOT) request for assistance following yesterday’s events in which a tanker fire damaged Interstate-95 (I-95) and the Fairfield Avenue bridge in Norwalk. The damage will result in the closure of the major northeast transportation corridor for at least several days.

Larson (CT-01) highlighted the need to strengthen Social Security with Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, and commended President Biden for laying out a plan in his budget to enhance benefits for the first time in more than 50 years by ‘scrapping the cap’ on income above $400,000 a year.
