Larson Blasts Trump’s Sham Indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James

East Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after President Donald Trump’s allies indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James, following a similar politically motivated indictment against former FBI Director James Comey, and yesterday’s threat from the President to jail political opponents, including Illinois Governor JB Pritzker. 

“Donald Trump is corrupting the justice system to punish his political enemies,” said Larson. “He’s calling for governors to be jailed and deploying National Guard troops onto city streets. That is not law and order. It is lawlessness straight out of the Oval Office. These are the tactics of authoritarian dictators like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, not American presidents. Attorney General Letitia James is a fierce defender of democracy and the rule of law. We must stand together against Trump's attempt to turn our justice system into a political weapon.”
