Larson also questioned hearing witness, Dr. Rick Gilfillan who is the Former Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Director and former CEO of Trinity Health, about health care transparency measures to improve patient understanding and outcomes.
Washington, D.C. – Today, the Connecticut Congressional delegation announced that a collection of Connecticut stakeholders led by the University of Connecticut and including Yale University, municipal leaders, the state of Connecticut, workforce development agencies, and private sector partners has received an award through the U.S. National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines program. This collective will receive $1 million in federal funding from the CHIPS and Science Act.

Larson (CT-01) voted against Republican legislation that would target innocent workers who lost their jobs during the pandemic by sending surprise bills for unemployment overpayments they received through no fault of their own. Larson introduced an amendment to protect Social Security beneficiaries from these surprise bills, but Republicans blocked it from coming to the House floor for a vote.
