WASHINGTON (WTNH) — Americans should begin seeing more baby formula on shelves after Congress passed an act to motivate foreign imports, according to an announcement Thursday from Rep. John B. Larson’s (D-Conn.) office.
Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted in the Ways and Means Committee to advance bipartisan legislation to improve opportunities for home visiting and mental health resources.
“By providing Americans with increased access to early childhood home visiting and mental health resources, we are giving our community the resources they need to live happy, healthy lives,” said Larson. “The bills we moved forward today meet Americans where they are and will remove barriers to getting the help they need and deserve.
With President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better legislation halted in the U.S. Senate, Connecticut Democrats hoped to drum up support Monday by highlighting the bill’s extension of a recently-expired monthly tax credit for families with children.
There’s new leadership at the Social Security Administration. A number of retirement advocates are applauding the move.
President Joe Biden fired Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul on July 9. Saul, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, locked heads with Democrats earlier this year over the timing of stimulus check payments to Social Security beneficiaries, as well as other issues.
