Davis (D-IL) sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin urging Treasury to allow Social Security beneficiaries who have dependents, but don’t file taxes, to continue to receive their $500 per child Economic Impact Payment in a timely manner, even if they miss Wednesday’s noon deadline.

"As public health experts and most notably, Dr. Fauci have stated, the COVID-19 pandemic is first and foremost a health crisis, which has devastated the economy," Larson said in a statement.

He said the health and economic issues need to be addressed head on and at the same time.

In a letter to President Donald Trump, Connecticut’s entire Congressional delegation urged support for Governor Ned Lamont’s request for a 100 percent cost-share adjustment for the major disaster declaration and emergency declaration issued to Connecticut in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The letter was signed by U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Chris Murphy (D-CT) and U.S. Representatives John Larson (D-CT), Joe Courtney (D-CT), Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Jim Himes (D-CT) and Jahana Hayes (D-CT).

Today, the Connecticut Congressional Delegation announced that Connecticut airports will be receiving $30 million in funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that will be used to offset the dramatic economic impact of COVID-19 on the aviation sector. Airports can use the grants for a wide range of purposes.

The PPP is a cornerstone of the government's $2 trillion stimulus plan to help the economy deal with the commercial consequences of the global coronavirus pandemic.
