EAST HARTFORD, CONN. – This morning Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) joined AT&T leadership to highlight AT&T's commitment to alternative fuel vehicles, in particular those powered by compressed natural gas.

AT&T recently announced that they will be putting 15,000 alternative fuel vehicles on the road nationwide by 2018. In Connecticut, the company has deployed 274 alternative fuel vehicles, with 229 of them being powered by compressed natural gas.

WASHINGTON – Connecticut Senators Joe Lieberman and Richard Blumenthal and Representatives John Larson and Rosa DeLauro announced Thursday that the South Fire District in Middletown has been awarded $114,350 to improve operations and safety within the department. The grant is funded through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG). Middletown will use the award to purchase updated equipment and provide additional training to its first responders.
