The American tradition of public service to others is a pillar of American society. When President John F. Kennedy delivered his inaugural address in 1961, he famously challenged his fellow Americans: "Ask not what your country can do for you: Ask what you can do for your country." Throughout his time in Congress, Congressman Larson has worked to honor the legacy of President Kennedy's call to service, supporting programs like AmeriCorps, to expand and promote opportunities for Americans to serve and volunteer in their communities.

Reproductive Rights
Throughout his time in public service, Congressman Larson has been on the frontlines of the fight to secure reproductive rights for women in Connecticut and across the country. Over his 40 years of public service, Rep. Larson has championed first-of-its-kind legislation to protect the right to abortion access, supported legislation that removes financial barriers to contraceptives and stood up for women in post-Roe America. He is proud to have a 100% voting record from Planned Parenthood and Reproductive Freedom For All (formerly NARAL).

For 27 years, Congressman Larson has consistently delivered vital federal funding to the First Congressional District, ensuring that cities, towns, and nonprofits have the support needed to serve our constituents. These grants create jobs and save you money; they cover costs that hospitals would otherwise have to pass on to you, they pay for state and municipal projects that would otherwise need to be funded through increased local taxes, and foster public-private partnerships that create jobs and engage industry.
