Washington – The U.S. House on Friday approved an ambitious bill that would dramatically lower the cost of popular drugs, like insulin and other commonly prescribed medications, for Medicare patients and other Americans.

All Connecticut House members voted for the bill, and three of them — Reps. John Larson, D-1st District, Joe Courtney, D-2nd District, and Jahana Hayes, D-5th District — were original co-sponsors.

Today, Congressman John Larson (CT-01), Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (CT-03), Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), Congressman Joe Courtney (CT-02), Congressman Jim Himes (CT-04), and Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) sent a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) urging them to rescind a $450,000 “non-reporting” penalty imposed on Gaylord Hospital in Wallingford. Gaylord Hospital has provided patients throughout the state of Connecticut with high-quality care for more than one hundred years.
