Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut Congressional Delegation and Governor Ned Lamont announced that the Connecticut Fire Academy has been awarded a grant of $334,789 by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. This funding will be used to enhance the academy’s training programs, equipment, and overall operations, ultimately improving the safety and effectiveness of firefighters across Connecticut.

Hartford, CT – Today, Governor Ned Lamont, Reps. John B. Larson (CT-01) and Joe Courtney (CT-02), Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, and Aging and Disability Services Commissioner Amy Porter announced that the Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services has been awarded $10 million in funding from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) that will be used to support upgrades and enhancements at senior centers statewide in Connecticut.

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Connecticut Congressional delegation announced that a collection of Connecticut stakeholders led by the University of Connecticut and including Yale University, municipal leaders, the state of Connecticut, workforce development agencies, and private sector partners has received an award through the U.S. National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Regional Innovation Engines program. This collective will receive $1 million in federal funding from the CHIPS and Science Act.

Hartford, CT – Today, the Connecticut Congressional Delegation and Governor Ned Lamont announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is receiving a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to develop a unified, statewide public transit information system for mobile devices.

The grant is being awarded through the competitive Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) discretionary grant program, which was created as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Hartford, CT – Today, Governor Ned Lamont and the Connecticut Congressional Delegation announced that 20 school districts across Connecticut are being awarded $5 million in funding under a competitive state grant program that will be used for hiring and maintaining school mental health workers during the 2023, 2024, and 2025 school years.
