Public Forum on Protecting and Enhancing Social Security

Thursday, June 6, 2019 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm
7 Waverly Ave
Portland, CT 06480
United States
Dear Friends,

On Thursday, June 6th, I will be hosting a discussion on the future of Social Security. Social Security isn’t an entitlement, it’s the insurance you’ve paid for. It is the working American’s retirement guarantee, providing economic security for millions of Americans including seniors, people with disabilities, and children and spouses who have lost a provider. We need to enhance the program’s benefits so that no one who has worked their whole life retires into poverty. Expanding Social Security will also help women and people of color, who often rely on Social Security benefits more.

Please join me at the Portland Waverly Senior Center, with First Selectwoman Susan Bransfield, to discuss the importance of protecting Social Security and how the Social Security 2100 Act will enhance benefits for current retirees and future generations.
