Larson Statement on the Release of Sagui Dekel-Chen from Hamas Captivity

East Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after American Sagui Dekel-Chen was released by Hamas after being held captive for nearly 500 days. 

“After 497 days in captivity, Sagui Dekel-Chen has returned home to reunite with his family and loved ones and meet his newborn daughter,” said Larson. “Thanks to the relentless advocacy of Sagui’s father and former Connecticut resident, Jonathan, his son and many other hostages are now home. We celebrate Sagui’s return and remain steadfast in our commitment to free the remaining hostages, put a permanent end to fighting, and work toward enduring peace in the region.”
