Larson Statement on the Passing of Ann Uccello and Pat Schroeder

East Hartford, CT – Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the passing of former Hartford Mayor Ann Uccello and former Colorado Congresswoman Pat Schroeder: 

“Ann Uccello was a remarkable woman and always a class act. She put service above self and won elections by the force of her values, determination, and dedication to the people she took an oath of office to serve,” said Larson. 

“Congresswoman Schroeder broke down barriers for women both in politics and in the workforce. Her dedication and leadership were examples for working women and mothers everywhere, and she played a key role in passing the Family and Medical Leave Act through Congress thirty years ago, ensuring job security for millions of Americans needing to take time off to care for a loved one. Both of these trailblazing women's families and loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers,” Larson continued.
