Larson Statement on Announcement of Tentative Agreement Between RTX and IAM Machinists
East Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after RTX announced a tentative agreement with IAM Locals 700 and 1746, who represent 3,000 machinists in East Hartford and Middletown.
“I continue to stand with the more than 3,000 IAM workers in East Hartford and Middletown who have been on strike for better wages and job protections for almost three weeks,” said Larson. “Connecticut’s skilled and reliable machinists have a long history of making the best engines in the world. RTX has a responsibility to do right by them. I was proud to join the machinists on the picket line. I applaud IAM leadership for their progress in negotiations and will continue to support the workers at Pratt & Whitney until this strike is over.”
