Larson Presents World War II Veteran Anne Sullivan with Congressional Citation on Her 103rd Birthday

Bloomfield, CT - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) presented Bloomfield resident, ColonelAnne Sullivan, with a Congressional Citation and an American Flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of her 103rd birthday.

"It is always an honor to meet members of our greatest generation. Colonel Anne Sullivan bravely served our nation in World War II as a nurse, where she helped countless service members. I thank her for her service and wish her a very happy 103rd birthday," said Larson.

Colonel Sullivan served in the United States Army from 1942-1974. She was previously awarded the following decorations for her service:

  • Meritorious Service Medal
  • American Campaign Medal
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal
  • WWII Victory Medal
