Larson, Courtney, DeLauro Applaud $230 Million Contract for F135 Engine Production
Washington, D.C. - Today, Reps. John B. Larson (CT-01), Joe Courtney (CT-02), and Rosa DeLauro (CT-03) released the following statement on the U.S. Navy’s announcement of a $230.6 million contract to support the production of F135 engines. Work will be performed at Pratt & Whitney and a myriad of suppliers in East Hartford, Cromwell, Manchester, Middletown, Cheshire, and other locations across the country.
“This new contract will help maintain Connecticut’s leadership in aerospace manufacturing on the world stage, supporting an additional 138 F135 engines built right here at Pratt & Whitney,” the members said. “Investing in the F135 engine ensures our allies and military services have the most state-of-the-art technology and equipment, supporting our military readiness and global security. We will continue to work together as a delegation to support the dedicated machinists and engineers across our state, whose hard work will keep the eagle flying for years to come.”
