Larson Commends Coach Hurley's Decision to Stay at UConn

Washington, D.C. - Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) commended Coach Dan Hurley's decision to stay at the University of Connecticut to coach Men's Basketball.

"The Lakers made a hard run at College Basketball's most talented and innovative coach. What they underestimated is that character still matters.

"Coach Hurley's decision has already done more for College Basketball and College athletics and of course Husky Nation as well as the players he has recruited.

"Coach Hurley has done so by putting the proper perspective on his passion for the sport, his motivational skills, and strategic planning, which will always make him a top prospect, but his decision has underscored that there is more to him than the lure of money!

"It starts with his family and upbringing, which restores our faith that there are still people of character that money can't buy! Thanks Coach, and by the way, to the Lakers and the Buss family, go Celtics!!"
