Larson and Local Leaders Visit Downtown Windsor Sites Supported by the American Rescue Plan

Windsor, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) joined Windsor Mayor Don Trinks, Deputy Mayor Lisa Bress, and State Representative Jane Garibay to visit local sites and businesses downtown that received COVID relief funding from the American Rescue Plan. Larson, Trinks, Bress, and Garibay visited the historic Windsor Station, Windsor’s Art Center, Union Street Tavern, and the Blue Dragonfly gift shop.
“House Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan to fund COVID recovery efforts and kickstart the American economy,” said Larson. “Windsor is investing these funds in the town’s small businesses, first responders, and community health and wellness efforts. Today we saw firsthand how the American Rescue Plan has supported infrastructure improvements downtown and set up local businesses to get back on their feet.”
"We in Windsor are extremely grateful to Congressman Larson's work with the American Rescue Funds," said Mayor Don Trinks. “These funds are allowing us to obtain a mental health clinician to assist our police officers on mental health calls, numerous Community Wellness and assessment needs, grants to small businesses and non-profits hit so hard from the pandemic, a small business incubator, housing rehabilitation programs, as well as many other quality of life enhancements within the Town of Windsor."
The Town of Windsor received more than $13 million in municipal, county, and educational support from the American Rescue Plan. Windsor restaurants were awarded $1.9 million in support from the American Rescue Plan-funded Restaurant Revitalization Fund.
