Connecticut Delegation Announces $6.8 Million for Traffic and Road Safety Improvements
Hartford, CT - Today, the Connecticut congressional delegation announced more than $6.8 million in federal funding through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for eight Connecticut traffic and road safety projects.
The funds are awarded through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program established to prevent roadway deaths and serious injuries.
“This $6.8 million in federal funding will prevent roadway fatalities and implement much needed traffic safety measures across our state. More than 250 people died on Connecticut roads last year — a preventable and all too common tragedy. These funds will help towns and cities make serious safety upgrades that will ultimately save lives,” the delegation said.
