Washington, DC - Senator Barack Obama met with theHouse Democratic Caucus today. Followingthe meeting, Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01),Vice Chair of the Democratic Caucus, said:

"Senator Barack Obamais a hope monger. His enthusiasm andspirit lifted the House Democratic Caucus to its feet for a standing ovation onmore than one occasion. He spoke ofunity and resiliency in this critical moment of American history. He held up the promise of a better future. But, most importantly he talked about thehard work that will be required from all of us not just to win the electionthis November but to turn that victory into substantive policies that help theAmerican people. He laid out goals andplans on issues from health care, transportation and energy to Iran and the wars in Iraqand Afghanistan. And, he humbly said that he couldn't take credit for the 200,000 person crowdthat gathered to see him in Berlin. They were there to see a symbol of the hopeand promise that Americacould be restored to its past greatness on the world stage.

"I look forward toworking with a President Obama come January to move ahead with the change thiscountry so badly needs."
