Larson Votes to Send Aid to Allies in Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and Civilians in Gaza

April 20, 2024

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted to send $95 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and civilians in Gaza.

“A week ago today, we saw what happens when the United States stands with our allies. Together with Israel and other allies and partners in the region, allied forces intercepted nearly all of the 300 drones and missiles launched by Iran targeting Israel,” said Larson. “The vote today was a clear signal that the United States will continue to stand with its allies. We especially applaud the people of Ukraine who have been carrying this fight against Vladimir Putin’s aggression. Now, they can have the missiles and support they need to defend themselves as bombs fall from the sky and families are torn apart. The people of Israel and Taiwan will have the security assistance they need to protect themselves. Civilians in Gaza will receive the long-overdue humanitarian assistance they desperately need. This vote should have taken place months ago when it included the bipartisan border security agreement, humanitarian aid, and relief for our critical allies of Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan. I commend Speaker Johnson for putting America’s allies and the people of Ukraine above partisanship to get the job done. We know the Senate, that has already acted on this, will respond swiftly to send this bill to the President for his signature.”
