Press Release

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for H.R. 1333, the NO BAN Act.  This legislation expands the Immigration and Nationality’s Act’s nondiscrimination provisions to prohibit discrimination based on religion. It also deters executive overreach by preventing the president from abusing his authority to restrict the entry of non-citizens into the United States under section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

“I’m proud to vote for the No BAN Act today. No one should be discriminated against because of their religion or nationality. By enacting this legislation, we can ensure the executive branch never unfairly penalizes non-citizens as President Trump did in 2017,” said Larson.
