Larson Votes to Make Insulin More Affordable
Washington, DC – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for the Affordable Insulin Now Act, which would cap out-of-pocket costs for insulin at no more than $35 per month in Medicare Part D and commercial health insurance.
“Today, we took a step towards ensuring insulin is more accessible to the 37 million people in the United States who have diabetes,” said Larson. “For years we have heard horror stories from Americans who must cut back or skip insulin doses because of how expensive this life-sustaining medication is. If this bill becomes law, we will put an end to the decades of price gouging and ensure Americans can access the prescriptions they need.”
Larson is a cosponsor of the Affordable Insulin Now Act and has worked to lower insulin and prescription drug prices through his service on the Ways and Means Committee.
