Larson Votes to Keep Government Open and Working for Connecticut

September 30, 2022

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the House passage of the Continuing Resolution to fund the government through December 16th.

“The Connecticut Congressional delegation fought to include increased funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which will help thousands of people in Connecticut heat their homes as temperatures drop,” said Larson. “We could not go into the colder months without this funding, and depending on the severity of this year’s winter, more dollars may be needed. In addition, the CR includes billions in relief for communities hit by natural disasters, ensuring our neighbors in Puerto Rico have the resources they need to rebuild after the devastation of Hurricane Fiona.

“I am proud to vote for this legislation today, especially President Biden’s request to increase funding for the Social Security Administration. However, to ensure our government continues to serve The People, we must pass full-year funding for these vital programs when Congress returns,” Larson continued.
