Larson Votes to Improve Airline Passenger Safety and Travel Experience, Invest in Infrastructure Improvements at Bradley International Airport

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for the bipartisan FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024.
“Today’s vote supports the millions of passengers who travel through Bradley International Airport in my district every year,” said Larson. “This bill builds on the progress we made in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law by authorizing the highest-ever level of funding for the Airport Improvement Program, which is currently supporting critical modernization efforts at Bradley.
“I am proud that we secured new funds I advocated for to support their ongoing efforts to end the use of firefighting foam containing harmful PFAS chemicals, an issue our region knows all too well after 50,000 gallons of PFAS foam spilled into the Farmington River in 2019,” Larson continued.
“Finally, this legislation enacts vital consumer protections for travelers by requiring automatic refunds for passengers when faced with excessive delays, improving around-the-clock access to airline customer service agents, and ensuring no family will again be charged more to simply sit with their kids,” Larson concluded.
