Larson Votes to Extend Government Funding, Deliver Emergency Assistance

September 21, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act. In addition to extending government funding through December 3rd, it includes $28.6 billion to help communities recover from recent natural disasters and $6.3 billion to support Afghan evacuees.

"We are still in the midst of a pandemic and cannot afford a needless government shutdown or risking a U.S. government default on its obligations such as Social Security. This government funding bill not only avoids those two catastrophes, but also includes vital funding to help communities recover from the recent hurricanes and wildfires and more than $6 billion to support Afghan evacuees. I thank Chair DeLauro for her leadership and spearheading this through the House," said Larson.
