Larson Votes Against Impeachment Inquiry

December 13, 2023

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted against H. Res. 918, legislation to continue an impeachment investigation against President Biden. Larson is a senior member of the Ways and Means Committee, one of the three committees of jurisdiction.

“I have participated in multiple closed-door hearings and markups with GOP investigators have cherry picked witnesses and ignored relevant leads in hopes of casting President Biden in the worst possible light. Despite this, they have produced no evidence of wrongdoing or even an allegation of a crime by the President or his administration.”

“Even Republican Senators like Mitt Romney and Shelly Moore Capito agree that today’s vote is completely unsupported by the evidence presented.”

“This is simply another political ploy by a House Majority to distract from their historic failure to govern. Speaker Johnson has chosen to end the year on impeachment despite having no path forward to keep the government open or pass a single bill of consequence”.
