Larson Votes to Advance Historic Policies for Families & Working Americans and Advance Vital Infrastructure Legislation

August 24, 2021

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted in favor of a rule to advance the budget resolution which includes President Biden's historic investment in the American people and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

"Passing these bills today represents Democratic values and demonstrates our investment in families and the America people. It paves the way for tax cuts for those who need them most - low income, middle-class Americans, and families - in stark contrast to the 2017 Republican Tax Law which benefited the wealthy and corporations. The Resolution will ensure seniors in need can now get hearing, vision, and dental care through Medicare and lowers prescription drug prices for all Americans. It invests in Americans' education by establishing universal pre-k and no-cost community college. It gives families the resources they need to succeed by creating paid family and medical leave while also expanding child care and home-based care. This is the investment in human infrastructure our country needs to boost the middle-class and help working Americans and families recover economically from the pandemic. This budget resolution will change the lives of millions of Americans," said Larson.

"I was also proud to vote today to advance a bill that is vital to Connecticut's infrastructure," Larson continued. "Governor Lamont and Department of Transportation Commissioner Giulietti have said this funding is essential to fulfilling the goals and vision to address the I-84/I-91 interchange and transform the Greater Hartford region. We cannot continue to live with the mistakes of the past. It's time we act boldly and make these visions a reality."
