LARSON URGES STATE TO COORDINATE BETTER ON FUTURE RAIL PROJECTS
Washington, DC – Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement after the announcement of some federal grants going to rail improvements in the state.
"This funding is a good start to reaching our goals for transportation updates for Connecticut and I commend Senator Dodd for his hard work on this issue. But, the state needs to be better coordinated and prepared to take advantage of future opportunities from the federal government's commitment to high speed rail and rebuilding our infrastructure.
"The development of a high speed rail corridor between New Haven and Springfield would strengthen Connecticut's economy by helping to create jobs immediately and providing a vital corridor for commerce between New York and Boston. This project remains a top priority for me and I will continue my work in Congress to advance it."
