Larson Statement on the TikTok Vote
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement on the TikTok vote.
“I have deep respect for the leadership that Ranking Member Jim Himes has provided on the Intelligence Committee, and take seriously his analysis of the intelligence landscape, which underscored the significant concerns I have about the Chinese Communist Party’s ownership of TikTok, especially related to data privacy and content control and censorship,” said Larson. “Unfortunately, the legislation before the House today was the result of a rushed process and did not answer valid concerns relating to freedom of speech. I hope that moving forward we will be able to take a more measured and comprehensive view on how to better address national security concerns while protecting Americans, the free flow of information, and free speech.”
