Larson Statement on the Passing of Mikhail Gorbachev

Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement on the passing of former President of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev: 

“Mikhail Gorbachev was a man of deep conviction and was deeply respected for his courage and vision. His efforts to denuclearize and democratize the Soviet Union are to be commended. President Gorbachev offered a new path forward for the people of the world by helping to end the Cold War. He will be deeply missed by so many across the globe. I send my sincere condolences to his daughter Irina and all of President Gorbachev’s loved ones,” said Larson.
