Larson Statement on the Passing of Louise Slaughter

Hartford, CT – Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement on the passing of Rules Committee Ranking Member Louise Slaughter (NY-25).

"Congress and the country have lost a great leader, and I have lost a great friend. She was an invaluable member of our institution who could trace her lineage back to the American pioneer, Daniel Boone. She was a steadfast advocate for her constituents and women across the country. Her voice and leadership will be sorely missed in Congress. My deepest sympathies go out to her family, friends, staff and to anyone who had the opportunity to know this great woman," said Larson.
