Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) voted for the Puerto Rico Status Act to dedicate federal resources to fund and organize a binding referendum in which Puerto Ricans on the island could vote among three options: statehood, independence, or sovereignty in free association with the United States.
“The people of Puerto Rico deserve the right to decide their future, and I voted for this legislation today to do just that,” said Larson. “The Puerto Rico Status Act appropriately puts this decision in the hands of Puerto Ricans, and Congress should abide by the decision they make.”
