Larson Statement on the Death of Former Israeli President Shimon Peres

Washington – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement on the death of Former Israeli President Shimon Peres:

“Today we lost a champion for peace and one of the most consequential political figures of our era. Shimon Peres, a founding father of Israel, worked with every American president since John F. Kennedy, and served as one of the architects of the Oslo peace accords. I was honored to have had the opportunity to meet him. We will remember him for his deep optimism and unflagging belief in the potential for peace in the Middle East. He will be greatly missed, though his legacy and work will live on. My heart goes out to his family and the people of Israel.”
