Larson Statement on Biden’s Executive Order Protecting Reproductive Health Care
Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after President Biden signed an executive order to protect reproductive health services after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and ended a 50-year protection to the constitutional right to abortion.
“President Biden has used his executive authority to safeguard access to reproductive health care across the country,” said Larson. “This executive order will protect and provide necessary resources to Americans, but it will not reinstate the nationwide right to safe and legal abortion. The House has already voted on the Women’s Health Protection Act, which would ensure the right to abortion nationwide, and the Senate filibuster stands in the way. The Senate cannot waste any more time. Americans across the nation need this access now.”
