Larson Signs Discharge Petition to Force House Vote on Aid to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and Civilians in Gaza
Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) signed a discharge petition to force a vote on the House floor on the bipartisan national security bill that would send aid Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel, and guarantee humanitarian assistance for civilians in Gaza.
“Even though the bipartisan national security bill has the votes to pass, Speaker Johnson has refused to bring it to the floor, putting aid to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and civilians in Gaza in jeopardy,” said Larson. “Our allies in Ukraine are in desperate need of assistance with Russia on their doorstep, and no ammunition left to support military operations. While Speaker Johnson and the Republican Conference play politics here at home, the world cannot afford to wait. Our allies are looking to us for help. We cannot deny them in their darkest hour. That is why I signed the discharge petition today to force a vote on this urgently needed bill and send it to the President’s desk.”
