Larson: Republican Inaction Leaves Ukraine in Dire Need
Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after the House adjourned without passing aid for Ukraine.
“It is shameful for Congress to leave town without voting to send aid to Ukraine,” said Larson. “Due to Republican inaction, we have not voted on aid to Ukraine even though it passed with overwhelming support in the Senate. The facts are clear: the Ukrainian people need our help. They are out of bullets and out of time. We must send them aid, so they can continue to push back against Russian aggression and defend their democracy. We cannot turn our backs on them in their time of need due to divisive political games. I implore Republican leadership to take up the Ukraine aid package and call Congress back to vote on it. The Ukrainian people do not have the luxury of waiting for us to return. There is no other option.”
