Larson Re-Elected by Colleagues as Ranking Member of the Social Security Subcommittee

January 8, 2025

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) was re-elected by his Democratic colleagues as the Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee.

“I am honored to be chosen by my colleagues to continue to serve as Ranking Member of the Social Security Subcommittee,” said Larson. “With 10,000 baby boomers becoming eligible for Social Security every day, it has never been more urgent to protect and enhance benefits for all beneficiaries, something Congress has not done in more than 50 years. Democrats will continue to oppose any and all attempts to cut Social Security, including raising the retirement age, and have a comprehensive plan to enhance benefits, cut taxes for millions of Americans, and strengthen the program by making the wealthy finally pay their fair share.”

Rep. Larson also joined the Trade Subcommittee for the 119th Congress.
