Larson Opposes Israel Bill That Fails to Support Our Allies

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) opposed H.R. 7217, Republican legislation that fails to provide humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza or support for Ukraine and Taiwan. 

“Speaker Johnson’s legislation is a partisan effort to undermine the national security bill negotiated under the leadership of Sen. Chris Murphy,” said Larson. “Instead of taking serious steps to support our ally Israel, House Republicans continue to knowingly put forward dead on arrival legislation designed to undermine serious efforts to deliver assistance. We must vote on the comprehensive and bipartisan national security bill, which provides aid to our friends and allies in Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, provides humanitarian assistance to civilians in Gaza, and addresses our nation’s border security.”
