Larson, Doyle, Fitzpatrick Renew Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus
Washington, D.C. - Today, Reps. John B. Larson (CT-01), Mike Doyle (PA-18), and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) renewed the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus for the 117th session of Congress.
“Climate change is one of the most imminent threats we face as a nation and world. Supporting advanced energy technologies like fuel cells is the way to move us forward. Fuel cells use our atmosphere's most abundant element, hydrogen, to create clean energy. Connecticut is the nation’s Fuel Cell Capital and the industry supports thousands of jobs in our state,” said Rep. Larson. “I’m happy to renew the Hydrogen and Fuel Caucus today with Reps. Doyle and Fitzpatrick to support this clean energy alternative.”
“Hydrogen has the potential to help us decarbonize industries like steel-making and heavy freight and can help us reach our climate goals while providing good-paying jobs. I am proud to work with my colleagues on the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus to advance common-sense legislation to advance research, development, and deployment of this important sector,” said Rep. Doyle.
“Since entering Congress, I have been a vocal supporter of renewable energy and increasing energy efficiency via clean hydrogen and fuel cell technology. Finding renewable sources of energy and moving toward complete energy independence makes our nation more secure and protects our environment for our children and future generations,” said Rep. Fitzpatrick. “I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus to secure our energy future so that we can protect our nation and our environment for generations to come.”
“The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA) is excited by this relaunch of the bipartisan House Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus led by long-standing supporters of the industry, Representatives Mike Doyle (D-PA), John Larson (D-CT), and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA),” said Frank Wolak, FCHEA President and CEO. “Hydrogen and fuel cells play a critical role in the nation’s decarbonization strategy while boosting energy security, grid resilience, and job creation.”
“FuelCell Energy is immensely grateful to House Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Caucus co-chairs Mike Doyle, Brian Fitzpatrick, and John Larson for their bold leadership. We also wish to convey our appreciation to Rep. Larson for consistently bringing his considerable legislative skills to bear on behalf of the growing hydrogen industry,” said Jason Few, President & CEO, FuelCell Energy, Inc. “This is a critical time for congressional thought leadership in support of the hydrogen sector, which is clearly well-poised to answer the serious threat of climate-change. And we are thankful to have these extraordinary leaders at our side.”
