Larson Cosponsors Paycheck Fairness Act

January 28, 2021

Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) cosponsored Chairwoman Rosa DeLauro's (CT-03) Paycheck Fairness Act, which would strengthen the 1963 Equal Pay Act and close loopholes in the law to end the wage gap. DeLauro has introduced this legislation every Congress since 1997.

"Equal pay for equal work is long overdue in America. That's why I'm incredibly proud to support the Paycheck Fairness Act, led by Connecticut's own Rosa DeLauro to end the wage gap," said Larson. "In 2021, women are still only making 82 cents on average for every dollar earned by their male counterparts, and for women of color that number is even lower. On average women have also experienced higher job loss and have been severely set back because of the pandemic. It's time we end this discrepancy and fight for equal pay for equal work!"
