Larson Commends President Biden's Call for an Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza

East Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after President Biden held a call with Prime Minister Netanyahu underscoring the importance of a shift in U.S. policy toward Israel. 

“I commend President Biden’s call for an immediate ceasefire and warning to Prime Minister Netanyahu that Israel must change course immediately, and that U.S. policy toward Israel will depend on it,” said Larson. “I support the Administration’s calls for rapid action to address civilian harm, humanitarian suffering, and the safety of aid workers in ‘the coming hours and days.’ The United States must use our leverage to ensure a lasting change in conduct.  

“I am especially glad that President Biden echoed the families of hostages, including former Bloomfield resident Jonathan Dekel-Chen, whose son Sagui is being held by Hamas, in their calls for Prime Minister Netanyahu to promptly accept a deal that would result in an immediate ceasefire and the return of these hostages,” Larson concluded.
