Larson Commends Murphy for Negotiating Bipartisan Border Security Agreement, Calls for Congressional Action

February 5, 2024

Washington, D.C. - Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement after bipartisan Senate negotiators, led by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), released a national security supplemental bill:

“I commend Senator Murphy for his efforts to reach a bipartisan agreement that addresses our nation’s border security and expands legal pathways for immigration,” said Larson. “He has worked in good faith for months with Senators on both sides of the aisle to find border solutions while ensuring we live up to our core American values as a nation of immigrants. This bipartisan agreement also provides a vital path forward for the President’s request to provide security assistance to Israel and Ukraine, support for Taiwan, and humanitarian aid for civilians in Gaza. This legislation is in the best interest of the country. Chris Murphy is rapidly becoming a modern-day Henry Clay for his bipartisan efforts to bring people together to get things done and bring security and sanity to the border.”
