Larson Applauds Federal Funding for COVID-19 Testing for InterCommunity Health Care
Hartford, CT – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) applauded the announcement that InterCommunity Health Care will receive $191,492 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to expand COVID-19 testing.
“As a Federally Qualified Health Center Look Alike (FQHC-LA), InterCommunity Health Care plays an integral role in providing a full spectrum of health care services to East Hartford and Hartford residents. This includes those in the North Hartford Promise Zone, also known as the 06120, one our state’s most impoverished neighborhoods. I’m proud that they are receiving this recognition and funding, which will help them expand COVID-19 testing in the community. I will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure InterCommunity Health Care and other FQHC-LA’s receive the funding they deserve to serve the community during this crisis and beyond,” said Larson.
“It is imperative that we do testing. And, InterCommunity is proud to work with our Congressional Delegation to ensure that FQHC-LAs are able to access these federal dollars. InterCommunity takes care of patients in the community, where they live. This grant is important to us because it will allow us to continue testing our patients where they receive their care,” said Kim Beauregard, President and CEO, of InterCommunity, Inc.
