Larson Announces NEA Grant Awards for CT's First District

June 15, 2017

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) announced that several Hartford area organizations will be receiving funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. Connecticut is receiving 14 grants totaling $957,400. In the First District the following organizations are receiving awards: Artists Collective in Hartford, CT Historical Society, the Hartford Stage, and the CT State Office of Arts, Dept. of Economic Community & Development.

"The arts are a vital part of our society. They allow our people to express themselves and enhance our communities for the better. It is disappointing that President Trump has proposed to completely eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts in his budget. The NEA provides funding to arts organizations across the country which offers essential programs for their communities. I will continue to fight for the funding for the arts in our district and the country," said Larson.
